Bacari Sherman Oaks: Rediscovering the Art of Tapas
My first encounter with tapas was at a quaint Spanish restaurant off 3rd Street, where sharing dishes with friends turned into one of my fondest dining memories. Since then, I’ve searched for that perfect blend of flavor and experience, and although LA boasts many fantastic tapas spots, none have quite matched that initial joy until I discovered Bacari Sherman Oaks!
From the moment I stepped into Bacari, it was clear that every menu item is crafted to perfection. The dishes are ideally sized for sharing, allowing you to indulge in a variety of culinary delights. One standout is their Tripoline Pasta, featuring a cream sauce that's both rich and tantalizingly spicy—it's pasta perfection on a plate.
Another must-try is their Burrata Caprese. Bacari's version, with Burrata di Gioia, fresh basil, heirloom cherry tomatoes, and basil walnut pesto, is irresistible. Each bite on their fresh baguette is a little taste of heaven, making it an appetizer I could savor all night.
The handmade Ricotta & Beet Gnocchi with Chèvre Fondue and Chimichurri is another highlight. This dish is not only impressive but incredibly delicious, showcasing Bacari’s knack for bold, unique flavors.
And let’s not forget the Asian Pear & Brie Pizza—an intriguing creation that blurs the line between entrée and dessert. We always save room for this delightful dish, making sure it arrives after our main courses so we can fully enjoy its sweet and savory complexity.
When it comes to cocktails, Bacari excels. Their carefully curated menu features housemade syrups and seasonal ingredients, making it one of my top spots for inventive and delicious drinks. The Chill Pill and the Confidant are two personal favorites, though I’ve enjoyed every cocktail I’ve tried. Bacari also offers an excellent open bar option, which is perfect for those who prefer beer or wine over cocktails. It adds a great alternative for your dining experience.
One of the aspects I love most about Bacari is their revival of a stunning LA location that had been vacant for years. The transformation of the former Rive Gauche site is nothing short of spectacular. The enchanting patio garden, the beautiful French windows, and the twinkling lights create a captivating ambiance, offering a unique dining experience each time you visit. With two bar areas providing different vibes, Bacari ensures that every visit feels special.
The friendly and attentive staff, along with the seamless team effort, makes every dining experience at Bacari memorable. Although I haven’t visited all Bacari locations across LA yet, the Sherman Oaks spot has me eager to explore more. If you haven't been to Bacari, you’re truly missing out. Thank you, Bacari, for making LA’s dining scene even more exceptional!
